1968 Gibson ES335 XII rare Sparkling Burgundy finish in very good condition with original soft shell case. This guitar carries a Gibson second stamp. Guitars and basses received this stamp if there was a small finish flaw only. Due to normal ageing it is now impossible to tell where the finish flaw was. It is all original throughout. Serial 988461.

The frets are in great shape and all hardware & electronics are in excellent working order. These Sparkling Burgundy finishes were prone to the top coat of red fading revealing more of the gold coat underneath, which is visible on the top of the body. The binding is all intact. The back of the neck and headstock are very clean with only minor lacquer checking typical of this finish. Everything remains structurally sound.

This ES335 XII is Semi Hollow it has a Maple top, back & sides, double cutaway arched Maple top with f holes, layered Black pickguard, Trapeze tailpiece, Rosewood fretboard with block inlays, 2 covered humbucking pickups; 2 volume, 2 tone controls with 3 position switch. Black headstock faceplate with double triangle inlay, Gibson logo and 6 in a line Kluson Deluxe tuners.
