Sims Custom Vintage story board series bass: The 1964 Festival Swap Out Precision.

Created to emulate:

Born 1964. Used continuously as a live gigging bass thats had an extremely vigorous and strenuous life . This bass has travelled around the world many times and has been worked extremely hard and lived through many style changes. In the mid 70ís the headstock was broken after having an artistic difference of opinion with the guitarist while on stage. This neck was replaced with a 1972 B neck The bridge was also replaced at this time with the newly developed Leo Quinn Bad Ass II. In the 80ís a Bartolini Single Coil pickup was routed in the bridge position to extend the basses tonal range and an extra volume pot was fitted. Short time after this the pickguard was cut down as the warping of the tortoiseshell guard was impeding playing style of the owner at the time.

Superb, high quality craftsmanship from Martin Sims and his team at Sims Custom. Fantastic tone from the Kent Armstrong Vintage pickups and superb playability having been fully set up with a Fresh set of Bass Centre Elites Stadium series strings by my technician Chris Ward. It comes supplied with a brand new Hiscox hard case.
