**SOLD****SOLD****SOLD** / . . . . . . . . . . Vintage 1978 Alembic Series 1, with the rare, original Alembic blue case and the original DS5 power pack and lead sets. Big chambered body bass with the K point lovingly hand crafted and built by all the best that Alembic had in 1978. Maple Purpleheart Mahogany neck and body .. Shedua top (Wonderfully ambered with age) with Zebrano headstock veneers. Mac epoxy ebony fingerboard, which is perfectly flat. John Diggins(Jaydee) professionally relocated the selector switch in the 80s (As many did, to stop it getting in the way when slapping). One strap button moved from the rear of the body to the upper horn, as most did, to improve balance. The colour is aged to a honeyed tone, some very minor lacquer checking. Absolutely no laminate de-lamination whatsoever, as can be seen on some of these old multi layered builds. Medium 32 \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\" scale (Not the short scale 30 version) Original pots and pickups. Serial number on the end of the headstock is 78 1225. Weight 10lb 13oz. Fully set up with a lovely playing action by my technician Chris Ward.
