**SOLD****SOLD**Vintage 1977 Gibson Ripper LS9 fretless bass, Sunburst finish over an Alder body with a set 3 piece maple neck and Ebony fingerboard.

The bass carries a Gibson second stamp. Guitars and basses received this stamp if there was a small finish flaw only.

Due to normal play wear it is now impossible to tell where the finsish flaw was. This Ripper is fantastic to play and sounds almost like an upright. (almost) The thin body ( only 1&1/4 inch thick) makes it very comfortable to play. The bass has a 34&1/2 inch scale length. Currently set up with roundwound strings although some people prefer flats on a fretless. This bass has 2 humbucking pickups, Volume, Treble and Bass controls and a 4 position selector switch. Schaler BM tuners and a 3 point adjustable bridge 100% stock including its original hard shell case. No cracks or repairs and all the electronics work and sound great. This guitar was made at the
