**Sold****Sold**Vintage 1984 G&L SB-2. Quite a few chips / dings on this bass & a cigarette burn on the headstock( see pics ). The neck is straight, the frets have plenty of life and truss rod has plenty of movement in it. Fully set up and intonated. Bullet truss rod at the headstock end. Skunk stripe on the back of the neck.

The SB-2 was G&Ls entry level bass along with its single pickup sibling, the SB-1. This model was introduced in late 1982 and was produced through 1984. As a budget model, the early SB-2 had a smaller, non-contoured slab body and no-frills electronics. Despite its “budget” status, the SB-2 remains a versatile instrument and a credit to Leo Fenders design genius. The bass shown here is an example of a the first style SB-2 during its last year of production. After 1984, its maple fingerboard was replaced by rosewood and it was renamed the Lynx Bass. First style SB-2s are considered rare because they were only made for two years in relatively small numbers.
