This Stingray is in excellent condition & all original (except case & missing string mute) Black finish & Maple neck / fretboard. 2 band EQ and through body stringing. The action is set nice and low and the truss rod has plenty more room to move. The neck is straight plays smoothly and is size1. The neck dates Jan 3rd 1979, the body dates Feb 27th 1979. The pots date 1978 & 1979. The neck, fretboard and body show very little play wear. There is a very faint hairline crack to the finish running from the top edge of the pickguard and around the back of the bass. Small chips to the finish by the neck pocket. Comes in a brand new hard shell case.

Designed by Leo Fender, Tom Walker and Sterling Ball , the StingRay bass appeared in 1976 and was a highly innovative instrument. It employed a soapbar humbucking pickup and an active pre-amp powered by a 9-volt battery. The early versions had 2-band EQ (i.e., bass and treble controls) These early Stingrays also had through body stringing. This bass can be viewed & collected from my home in Hackney.
