This is truly a remarkable piece of history. 1966 Fender Jazz bass, Olympic White finish with a matching headstock. This is a custom colour and a transition period, dot & bound Rosewood neck Jazz Bass. All original, including the case. Serial number: 137301. Weight: 8 lbs 9.5oz.

The finish is very clean, it has mellowed from a bright White to more of a light cream colour with only a few small chips/dings and a tiny area of buckle rash. Take a look at the pictures with the guard off, you can see the very bright White (under guard). The finish shows light checking, which gives it plenty of mojo. It plays very well & sounds superb with a straight neck, which is very comfortable in the hand. The frets are in great condition.

The neck is stamped Apr 66 A. The pots all date to the 18th week of 1966, the pickups have original winds and are dated 8th June 66 ( neck) and 7th June 66 ( bridge) The pots harness is wired up with the correct cloth wires. Nut width: 38.3 mm. Depth at 1st fret: 21.4 mm. Fully set up with a very smooth low action and a fresh set of Rotosound Nickel strings.
