1955 Fender Precision Bass. Body and neck refinished, pickup rewound by Charlie Davis, who started work with Fender in 1957. According to the original owner all the refurbishment work was overseen by Charlie which suggests it went back to Fender for the work. The original owner also says all the hardware was polished and that the pickguard is replaced and was hand cut at Fender. The nut is not original. New Fender tweed case. Serial number: 11066. Body date: 1/55. Neck date:11/55. Both pots date to 55. (difficult to read the week)

It has a lightweight and resonant Swamp Ash body, maple neck and fingerboard. The neck has a C profile ( the V profile came in 56) This bass has a single coil pickup with a raised A pole piece, chrome volume and tone controls, a single ply white pickguard, an original Fender Pat. Pend. metal bridge with two adjustment screws each for half and reverse gear tuners.

It sounds great, with huge tone and a bottom end that just growls at you ! The frets are in great shape with very little wear. Fully set up with a set of flat wound strings. and a medium to low action with great playability. Weight 9 lbs 5.5oz. Nut width: 44mm . Depth at 1st fret 23mm.
