1964 Hofner 500/1 Beatle Bass in excellent condition. This is a very cool German-built Violin Bass. It's a great player with an excellent warm and woody thump. It has a spruce top with Maple back and sides and a Rosewood fingerboard. All original and complete with the exception of both pickups being rewound. I had the rewinds done by Bare Knuckle pickups. The original case is included and all latches work well.

The electronics are in good working order and the staple pickups sound great. This Hofner has aged beautifully. It has 22 frets, plus a zero fret for smoother playing, improved intonation, and better sustain. There are a few tiny bits of wear on the front of the body and around the headstock, the back of the body is very clean without any buckle rash.

It's been fully set up with a straight neck and a smooth action. It's nice and light as you would expect light weighing only 4lbs 13.5oz. The pot Codes read- 234 (the last digit is the year).
