1979 Gibson Ripper Bass. All original and 100% stock including the case. Kalamazoo Plant, USA

December 3rd, 1979 Production Number: 82. The Ripper was designed by Bill Lawrence who was working for Gibson at the time.

The Ripper has contoured body edges vaguely echoes the SG, its offset horns were clearly reminiscent of other popular makes. It has a set neck. The strings go through the body allowing for greater sustain and this bass definitely has that, along with a superb tone.

The body has a few tiny nicks in the finish, mainly around the edge of the body and a a little buckle rash on the back. The frets are in good shape having been cleaned and polished by my tech.

Serial:73379082 . Weight: 10 lbs 3.5oz. Neck dimensions: Width: 1.639" at the nut , 2.150" at the 12th. Depth: 0.847" at the nut and 1.009" at the 12th. This bass has been fully set up by my technician. Come and try it out at my showroom in Shoreditch London.
