1978/80 Fender Precision Jazz bass with original case, Natural finish over an ash body with a C-shaped Maple neck and 7.25" radius fingerboard. All original other than a rewound neck pickup and missing metal pickup cover.

This bass is in exceptional condition with hardly any play wear. There are one or two tiny dings but they're barely visible unless up close. The frets have some play wear but have been dressed and polished by my tech and have many tears of life left in them.

I've listed this bass as 79/80 because the serial number indicates 78 but the pots and pickups are stamped 80. During the years 1978 - 1982 Fender guitars showed even less consistency in terms of serial numbers than their earlier 70s predecessors. Some of the necks at the end of the 70s ended up unused until the early 80s.

This bass is a joy to play with a superb even sound right across the fretboard, it has a straight neck which is very slim at the nut, and there's tons of room in the truss rod. And all original hardware & electronics. Solder joints untouched. It's been fully set up by my technician with a fresh set of strings and sounds amazing.

Weight 11lbs. Serial: S858288. Pickup ohms, Neck: 0.692. Bridge: 0.729. Nut Width: 1.392" / depth: 0.922" . Width at 12th: 2.214" / depth: 1"
