1960 Fender Musicmaster, Desert Sand

1960 Fender Musicmaster, serial: 47496. Desert Sand finish in excellent condition. With the exception of the missing bridge cover and relined case, it's all original and complete, including the tan case.

Released in 1956 as a student model these guitars along with the Duo Sonic became the starting point for many young guitarists. It's a short-scale (22.5") guitar with a C-profile neck. The simple volume & tone controls allow for a no-frills approach to guitar playing. It has a maple neck and fingerboard with plastic button Kluson tuners. It's an amazing guitar to play and it sounds fantastic.

There is light lacquer checking throughout the finish and a few small scuffs and dings. The neck is in fantastic condition with just some very minor playwear. The headstock is also very clean with just a few very small dings around the edges. Everything remains structurally sound with no breaks or repairs. The frets are in great condition having been dressed in our workshop and still have plenty of life left in them. All hardware and electronics are in good working order including the truss rod, which works correctly.

This guitar has been set up in our workshop with a fresh set of D'Addario 9s and medium-low action. The neck is missing, which is common in this period. Both pots date to the 47th week of 59. The pickup has original winds and unbroken solder.  Weight 6lbs 2oz / 2.78 kg.

Condition Excellent 8.95/10
