1961 Fender Duo-Sonic,serial:59410. Desert Sand finish in excellent condition. Except for the missing bridge cover, it's all original and complete, including the tan case.

Released in 1956 as a student model, these guitars along with the Musicmaster became the starting point for many young guitarists. It's a short-scale (22.5") guitar with a very soft V-profile neck. The simple volume & tone controls allow for a no-frills approach to guitar playing. It has a maple neck with a Rosewood fingerboard and plastic button Kluson tuners. It's an amazing guitar to play and sounds fantastic.

There is light lacquer checking throughout the finish and a few small scuffs and dings, which are mainly around the edges. The neck is in fantastic condition and the headstock is also very clean with just a few very small dings around the edges. Everything remains structurally sound with no breaks or repairs. The frets are in great condition having been dressed in our workshop and still have plenty of life left in them. All plastics, hardware and electronics are in good working order including the truss rod, which works correctly.

This guitar has been set up in our workshop with medium-low action. The neck pencil date is 3/61. Both pots date to the 7th week of '61. The pickups have black bobbins and original winds. Untouched solder throughout. Weight 6 lbs 0.5 oz / 2.73 kg. Nut width 39 mm. Depth at 1st fret 19.9 mm. Pickup DC resistance, Neck 5.38k /  Bridge 5.28k.
