Ampeg AEB-1

This Late 60's Ampeg AEB-1 bass was gifted to Jah Wobble by famed USA bass player, producer and label owner, Bill Laswell. This bass has been used by Jah Wobble in the studio, most recently on "Nocturne In The City" It comes with a certificate of authenticity signed by Jah and a hand written note.

The AEB-1 (fretted) and the AUB-1 (fretless) were the first horizontal electric basses of Ampeg's own design, and they are the most commonly referred to as Scroll Basses. They feature a scroll headstock, similar to Ampeg's Baby Bass, and a rounded body with two large F-holes that go all the way through the body.

As you can see this particular bass has had the frets removed and lines added so it's now a lined fretless bass. It has an added EMG Soap-bar pickup and a changed pickguard. The bass is strung with Rotosound flat-wound strings and plays very well. Nut width: 41.6 mm. Weight: 10 lbs 5 oz.

Condition Good 7/10
Serial Number 1192
