1979 Gibson RD Artist Bass in very good + condition. Tobacco Sunburst finish, Ebony fretboard, serial 72819020. Other than the strap buttons this bass is all original including the case. (the case handle is a home-made replacement) Original Moog circuitry. Fully set up in our workshop with a set of round-wound strings. Nut width 40.7 mm. The depth at 1st fret is 21 mm. The weight is 11 lbs 12.5 oz / 5.34 kg. This bass guitar was made at the Kalamazoo Plant, MI, USA.
This is one of the cleanest RD Artist basses we've had in stock. A few scuffs and dings are present around the body's edges, with a few on the back, the neck and fretboard are generally clean with only light play wear. The neck is straight, the action is low, and the frets are in good condition having been cleaned and dressed in our workshop. The headstock shows no cracks or repairs and only minor signs of wear. Fantastic bass with a wide range of tones.
Maple set neck and body, custom-designed active electronics with built-in compression/expansion, bright and neutral modes. 3-way pickup selector. 34 1/2 inch scale. Pearloid dot inlays and headstock motif. This bass is active with no passive mode. Electronics designed by Moog. Gibson humbucker pickups.
